Those killed have been identified as 30-year-old Ahmed Nadaf and his 12-year-old nephew Mushtaq Nadaf. [break]
The two were shot dead at 7 pm Monday while they were returning from Sitapur bazaar to their residence located at Hatisarwa-5.
A single shot fired by the men killed them both. The two were pillion riding a motorcycle ridden by Mushtaq´s father Atabul when a bullet pierced through Mushtaq´s shoulder, came out of his chest and then traveled to Ahmed´s chest.
Police say the assailant fired the shot sticking the gun to Mushtaq´s shoulder. Ahmed died on the spot, while Mushtaq died while being taken to Janakpur for treatment.
Police have recovered a Yamaha Fazer motorcycle (Na 11 Pa 2225) used by the gunmen.
Atabul said the three assailants told him to stop his motorcycle along the Sitapur-Bakhari road section, and fired the shot from behind them.
“We were returning home. Three people were standing on the road. One of them told me to stop my motorcycle. He was carrying a pistol. I was about to stop the motorcycle when he fired the shot,” Atabul said.
He said two of the assailants appeared to be of Madhesi origin, and one of hill origin.
Mushtaq was a third grader at B S English School at Sitapur. Ahmed had returned home from Qatar a month ago. Ahmed is survived by three sons aged one, three and five.
