ITAHARI, July 2: CPN-UML is taking the lead in the mayoral race held on June 28 in Itahari sub-metropolitan City.
UML mayoral candidate Dwarikalal Chaudhari has garnered 5605 votes and deputy mayoral candidate of the same party Laxmi Guatam has obtained 5466 votes.

Nepal Congress(NC) mayoral and deputy mayoral candidates Rohit Kumar Prasai and Bimala Dhakal are following their UML counterparts. Prasai has got 5445 votes while Dhakal has secured 5376 votes.
Vote count is under way in wards 2 and 19 now. UML is taking the lead in these wards too.
