During a meeting held on Friday morning, CPN-UML leader Madhav Nepal and UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal expressed their dissatisfaction toward the latest expansion of cabinet and the government's failure to settle the Madhes movement, said a close source attending the meeting.
Former Prime Minister and UML leader Nepal had reached to Dahal's residence in Lazimpat early in the morning. “We both (Dahal and Nepal) were worried over the slow progress made by the government in solving the ongoing crisis across the country and the prime minister working less and talking more,” Nepal told Republica.
UCPN (Maoist) standing committee meeting on Thursday had stood against the cabinet expansion by bifurcating ministries. The party Spokesperson Dinanath Sharma said the meeting was not focused on settling the crisis in Tarai-Madhes but was more interested more in expressing discontent toward the government.
According to Nepal, the meeting was focused on settling Madhes movement and Indian blockade. There were also discussions about the government's activities and cooperation with main opposition party, Nepali Congress.
Nepal and Dahal had also held a meeting on Thursday as well. A close source to the UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Dahal quoted him saying that Nepal had expressed dissatisfaction to PM Oli for promoting factional politics in the party.
Dahal, who is the coordinator of the High-Level Political Committee (HLPC), also held meeting with NC General Secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula and discussed about forwarding constitution amendment bill, according to Dahal's personal aide Shiva Khakurel.
Coordinator of the HLPC Dahal held separate meetings with agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) leaders Upendra Yadav and Mahantha Thakur later on the same day and discussed on forwarding the constitution amendment bill by ending house obstruction by the parties.
