At a press conference held at UCPN (Maoist) central office in Parisdanda, Sharma said the activists were working on a regular basis to reconstruct shelters for quake victims in 14 districts.
The campaign dubbed 'National Labour Campaign-2072' is being led by UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal in Sindhupalchowk, Dr Baburam Bhattarai in Gorkha, Vice Chairman Narayankaji Shrestha in Dolakha and General Secretary Krishna Bahadur Mahara in Kathmandu, Sharma said.
Sharma added that more than 100,000 bamboo poles and corrugated zinc sheets were being brought from district unaffected by the earthquake and that the materials were still arriving.
The party's central command has instructed leaders and activists based in Terai region to bring one million bamboo poles, Sharma said adding that the party set a target of constructing maximum number of temporary shelters before the onset of monsoon season.
Sharma shared the party's emphasis was on rebuilding schools, drinking water apparatus and health posts and temporary shelters for quake victims. He said the first round of the campaign would run for 15 days and the second phase would start after reviewing the first round. RSS
