A Standing Committee (SC) meeting of the party on Thursday took decision to that effect after Chief Whip Girirajmani Pokharel refused to contest to the position.
The SC meet was expected to finalize names for ministers, but it failed to reach a conclusion.
The meet passed the onus on Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal to select names for eight ministers to represent the party in the government.
