Two fraudsters in police net

BIRATNAGAR, Jan 12: Police have arrested two persons for defrauding a man of Rs 1,40,000 with the promise of a post in the police force.



According to police inspector Kamal Khatri of the district police office, Morang, Ranjit Poddar, of Katahari-5 and Samyukta Chaudhary of Hattimuda-9 of the district were arrested while the duo were in talks with the man, who was asking them to return his money after he failed in the recruitment test. The duo had collected the money from the man promising him the post of assistant sub inspector in the police force. Police have also recovered Rs 1, 30,000 on person from them.



Police are preparing to press fraud charges against Poddar and Chaudhary.
