Traffic action nets Rs 491,500 in revenue in 24 hours

According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, action was taken against 151 drivers for drunk driving, 111 for operating ride sharing services in violation of regulations, 142 for running red lights, and 230 for speeding.

KATHMANDU, June 7: A total of 2,256 motorists were penalized for violating traffic rules over the past 24 hours, generating Rs 491,500 in revenue for the state.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, action was taken against 151 drivers for drunk driving, 111 for operating ride sharing services in violation of regulations, 142 for running red lights, and 230 for speeding.


Similarly, 33 motorists were penalized for lane discipline violations, 193 for honking in prohibited areas, 117 for parking on sidewalks, and 118 for driving on one-way roads. Another 1,161 drivers faced action for various other traffic rule violations.
