The bombs had exploded on the same day when the provision on the Constitution Bill describing Nepal as a secular nation was endorsed by the Constituent Assembly on September 14.
The arrestees are Ram Bhandari, 51, Krishna Chundal, 56, and Ram Chandra Baniya, 45, of Birtamod, Jhapa. Four other persons involved in the incident are still at large. Police informed that they have intensified search operation.

Bhandari is the commander-in-chief of Hindu Morcha, Nepal, vice-chairman of Nepal Defense Army and general secretary of Hindu Jagaran Nepal. He was one of the two people involved in bombing Jyoti Mandal Church of Damak-10. According to the police, he has confessed in a statement to the police of managing sockets and pipes used for making the bombs. Bhandari and the other arrestee, Baniya admitted of managing bikes for carrying out the operation.
According to the police, the group had left pamphlets at all the bomb blast sites expressing their dissatisfaction over the current political situation after the country was declared secular.
The pamphlets had carried stern warnings to Christian followers.
No human causalities were reported during the bomb explosions. However, three police personnel - Assistant Inspector Dev Narayan Yadav, head constable Bharat Karki and policeman Kedar Poudel had sustained injuries in one of the blasts.
