LAHAN, July 29: Three children died due to drowning in ponds in separate incidents of Siraha district on Sunday.
The victims include 10-year-old Deepak Yadav and Nandani Yadav, 7, children of Bimal Yadav from Arnama rural municipality-4, and 11-year-old Kajal Das of Makhnaha, Siraha municipality-3, the District Police Office Siraha stated.

The Yadav siblings had gone out of the house to play and a search was mounted for them after they did not return even late in the evening. They were found dead floating in a pond near the settlement.
Similarly, Das drowned in a ditch filled with water while taking a bath. She was rescued immediately but breathed her last at Chandra Narayan Maternity Hospital, Madar.
