KATHMANDU, April 27: The sacred pilgrimage site site of Mata Tirtha south-west of the Capital City has come to life coinciding with Matatritha Aunsi - Mother’s Day - in Nepal. Thousands of people visit every year on this day to express their respect and love toward their mothers, both living and departed.

A special fair is traditionally held at Mata Tirtha, drawing devotees and visitors from near and afar to pay homage to their mothers.
