DANG, Sept 1: Transport services have come to a grinding halt in the country’s western parts including Dang due to a strike called by the newly-launched Tharuhat Tarai Party (TTP) since early Thursday morning.

No vehicles are plying on the road due to the strike called putting forth an eight-point demand including the dissolution of the Constituent Assembly and fresh elections. [break]

Early this morning, strike enforcers set ablaze a bus en route to Nepalgunj from Tulsipur of Dang district at the Phulbari jungle of the Tulsipur-Ameliha road section for defying the strike.

The Laxman Tharu-led party, launched some one month ago, has called the strike for Thursday and Friday.
