KATHMANDU, Dec 20: Tribhuvan University (TU) has reissued a tender for the construction of flood lights and a parapet at the TU cricket ground.
The Federal Secretariat Construction and Management Office under the Ministry of Urban Development has invited tenders today for international-standard parapet construction and flood lights installation.
A security deposit of Rs 16.2 million has been set for the parapet construction, and Rs 17.3 million for the flood lights. A fee of Rs 20,000 each will be charged for submitting tenders. The deadline for tender submission is until 12:30 pm on January 19, 2025. According to the notice, the tenders will be opened the same day at 1:30 pm.

The tenders previously called for installing flood lights were canceled twice.
In the fiscal year 2022/23 budget, the then finance minister Janardan Sharma allocated Rs 200 million to initiate the process of upgrading the Kirtipur ground and installing flood lights.
Out of the Rs 200 million allocated, Rs 100 million was set aside for ground upgrades and Rs 100 million for installing flood lights. However, the Rs 100 million for flood lights remained unused and was returned.
In the budget for the fiscal year 2024/25, Rs 200 million has been allocated for installing flood lights at the TU cricket ground.
