Teachers Service Commission regulations being amended

KATHMANDU, Oct 26: The government has initiated the process of amending the regulations of the Teacher Service Commission to remove the procedural hurdles seen in the recruitment of community school teachers and issuing study permits.

KATHMANDU, Oct 26: The government has initiated the process of amending the regulations of the Teacher Service Commission to remove the procedural hurdles seen in the recruitment of community school teachers and issuing study permits.



According to Minister for Education, Science and Technology Devendra Poudel, a proposal to amend the regulations has been sent to the concerned committee in parliament for further consultation. Due to the lack of amendment in the regulations, advertisement for teacher selection, internal promotion and teaching license examination were stopped.

The Center for Education and Human Resource Development has sent a report to the Commission stating that there are 17,047 vacancies in community schools across the country.


There are 12, 912 vacancies in primary level, 2,593 vacancies in lower secondary level and 1,542 vacancies in secondary level.
