KATHMANDU, Aug 16: A teacher has died after being buried by a landslide triggered by a heavy rainfall in Khotang. The deceased has been identified as Sabitri Devi Newar, 60, a resident of Rawa Besi Rural Municipality 3, Khotang.
Newar, a teacher at the Vishwa Jyoti Secondary School, died after being buried in a landslide while on her way to school on Thursday.

According to the Koshi Province Police Office, Biratnagar, Newar who sustained serious injuries died on the spot due to delay in rescue efforts.
Bhim Dahal, Spokesperson and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) said that further investigation into the incident is underway.
