The temple is opened each year only on the day of Mahanawami for the general public.[break]
The three-story temple was built by the then King Mahendra Malla in the month of Magh in 1620 BS in pagoda style.
A local Rajya Laxmi Shrestha said some 100,000 devotees visit the temple for darshan.
Meanwhile, a total of 54 he-buffaloes and 54 he-goats were scarified last night or the Kal Ratri at Mulchok of Hanumandhoka.
Altogether 225 sacrifices are made until the last day of Dashain, the Kojagrat Purnima.
