KATHMANDU, Feb 17: Banepa Municipality, Modern Nepal College and the International Taekwondo Federation (ITF) Nepal jointly felicitated taekwondo players on Friday. The Municipality and the college each, organizing a program in the capital, awarded Samsan Lamichhane with Rs 20,000 for winning gold medal in sparring category in the Asian Taekwondo Championship and a silver and a bronze medal in Korea Open International Festival in sparring and pattern categories respectively. The college also said that Lamichhane will receive full scholarship for his +2 education. Also, Bibika Basnet, Ashish Thapa, Shanta Kumar Thapa Magar and Nishant Lamichhane were felicitated for winning gold medals in International Invitational Taekwondo Tournament held in Bangalore.
