KATHMANDU, Jan 22: The fourth tournament of the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2024-25, the Surya Nepal Western Open, begins today (Wednesday) in Pokhara.
Organized by Nepal Professional Golfers Association and sponsored by Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd, the Surya Nepal Golf Tour has been held regularly. The fourth tournament of this season will kick off at the Himalayan Golf Course in Pokhara on Wednesday. The three-day competition will be played over a total of 54 holes.
Dhana wins Surya Nepal Western Open
A cut will be applied after 36 holes. A Pro-Am competition will be held on Saturday. A total of 34 professional golfers and 18 amateur golfers will compete in this event. Nepal's number one amateur golfer, Sadhbhab Acharya, and the winner of the Surya Nepal Central Open, Rahul BK, have decided not to participate in this tournament.
The winner of the competition will bag a cash prize of Rs 150,000, while the second and third-place finishers will receive Rs 100,000 and Rs 72,000, respectively. Golfers finishing in the top 21 will also receive cash prizes. Defending champion Bhuwan Nagarkoti, along with Neeraj Tamang, Dhan Thapa, Sanjay Lama, and Jayaram Shrestha are considered strong contenders for the title.
