Sunsari ambulances to resume service

DHARAN, Nov 24: Following an initiatives of Nepal Red Cross Society Sunsari, ambulances in Sunsari have decided to resume service from Tuesday after an agreement with concerned stakeholders.

The ambulance had called off the service citing security reasons since last three days.As per the agreement, the ambulances will be allowed to ply on the road without obstruction, provide fuel to ambulances and police to provide escorting as per the need, among others, Red Cross District President Umesh Thapa said.

Ambulance drivers complain that they had been reeling under severe fuel crisis and threat from the irate protestors. "Our service have been disrupted following the attack from the protestors and lack of fuel," Chairman of Ambulance Driver Association Ram Narayan Mandal said.
