The motorcycle (Ga 1 Ba 224) of Road Division Office of Palpa was burned down by the students near Tribhuvan Multiple College, defying the presence of security personnel, who were standing nearby the incident scene.
"We urged the students´ not to set the bike on fire," an eye witness said, adding the police personnel, some 15 in number, stood mute at the happening.

An investigation into the police inaction would be carried out, DSP Govinda Thapaliya said.
Agitating students have barred all government vehicles from plying on the road in front of the campuses today.
Police had to intervene to ensure the resumption of the disrupted transport services after the incident, the police officer said.
Students pelt stones at minister´s vehicle in Palpa
Students from various student unions on Thursday pelted stones at the vehicle of Local Development Minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi in Palpa.
Police detained eight students involved in the act. Four students have been injured in the incident. [break]
Students from Nepal Student´s Union, All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) and ANNFSU-Sixth attacked minister Rayamajhi´s car while he was in Palpa to attend a program.
They had also vandalized a government vehicle and torched a government motorbike in the morning.
