KATHMANDU, Jan 25: Police have arrested Student Wing's in-charge of Netra Bikram Chanda 'Biplab' -led Maoist group in Chitwan.
Police said the arrested Suman Shrestha aka Samrat is learned to be a secretariat member of All Nepal National Students' Union (Revolutionary), Chitwan Chapter, and the students' wing's in-charge of the outlawed group in Bharatpur Metropolitan City. A permanent resident of Galchhi Rural Municipality-1 in Dhading, Shrestha,24, lived in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-11.

According to Chief of District Police Office, Chitwan, Superintendent of Police Nantee Raj Gurung, Shrestha was arrested when he was preparing to unleash violent activities on the eve of the general shutdown announced by the group on Saturday against the arrest of the group's senior leader Dharmendra Bastola.
Shrestha was arrested from Saptagandaki Chowk of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-10. Police have secured permission from the court to keep him in judicial custody for seven days beginning Sunday. Police said the further investigation against the arrested Shrestha is currently underway.
