MYA defeated Chyasal Youth Club and Birgunj edged past Shree Laligurans Pulchowk Sports Club with identical 2-1 score. Following the win, MYA retained its top position on the basis of goals superiority though it has equal six points as that of second placed Sankata and third placed Birgunj. [break]
The three teams have not lost any of their games in the tournament so far. Pulchowk remained steady in fourth place with three points while Tushal is second from bottom remaining pointless.
In the day´s late match, Sujan Pradhananga gave 17th minute lead to MYA, but Susan Gurung hit back the equalizer seven minutes later. Sansar Nanda Palanchowke hit the winning goal three minutes from time for MYA.
Earlier, Nishan Nepali and Ravi Kuma Paswan scored early goals in Birgunj´s win over Pulchowk Club. Nepali scored in third and Paswan in the fifth minute for the winning side. Wangel Ghalen pulled one back for Pulchowk in the 63rd minute.
Lissanevitch, Rokka lift singles titles
KATHMANDU: Nepal´s no 1 woman tennis player Aslesha Lissanevitch and Milan Rokka won singles title of Sixth LA Cup Inter College Sports Competition on Thursday. Lissanevitch of The British School registered a comfortable 6-0, 6-0 win over Pabitra Gurung of Golden Gate College. Jyotika Thapa of host LACM and Priya Laxmi Karki of Orbit International finished third.
In men´s final, Rokka of GEMS edged past Taraman Gurung of Janapriya Multiple College, Pokhara 3-6, 7-6, 6-3. Gagan Maharjan of Nawa Bibaran and Rajkumar Lama of Premier settled for third position. Altogether 16 male and eight female players had participated in the tennis.
