Ram Rai claims Bulls Badminton
KATHMANDU: Ram Rai of Host Bulls Club on Saturday clinched the men´s singles title of Bull Second Indoor Badminton Championship held at Nakkhu, Laliptur. Rai defeated Suman Limbu of Armed Police Force (APF) in the title clash. Aakash Chhantyal and Raju Bajracharya´s pair took home men´s doubles title defeating Mahesh Bajracharya and Birendra Bista´s pair from Butwal. Women´s doubles title went to Trina Rai and Bina Tulachan´s pair of host Bulls.
The duo overcame Kabita Karki and Sita Dahal´s pair of the same club. Narayan Man Shrestha and Bina Tulachan´s pair of APF edged past Dilman Pakhrin and Trina Rai´s pair of host in veteran mixed doubles final. Narayan Man Shakya and Hari Shrestha´s pair of APF won veteran double´s title, and Madhav Prasad Thapa and Pushpa Tamrakar´s pair from AFP won the super veteran doubles title.
Ramhari Karki wins equestrian title
KATHMANDU: Ramhari Karki of Nepal Army claimed the title of Equestrian Tournament held on Saturday in Pokhara. The tournament was part of the Mountain Sports Festival. Karki was declared winner on the basis of timing, fault and diffuse. Karki bagged Rs 20,000 for his feat and Sagarmatha trophy. In the event contested by six players, Jagat Singh Ghising finished runner-up and received Rs 10,000 and the Lumbini trophy. Rajendra Baniya came third. Baniya was awarded Rs 5,000 along with the Annapurna trophy.
