Six doctors of Karnali Provincial Hospital contract coronavirus; OPD service shut

KARNALI, Aug 27: At least six doctors working at Karnali Provincial Hospital in Surkhet have tested positive for COVID-19.

KARNALI, Aug 27: At least six doctors working at Karnali Provincial Hospital in Surkhet have tested positive for COVID-19. 



According to the hospital sources, those tested positive for the COVID-19 include two consultant doctors and four medical officers. One more health worker has also been tested positive for the virus.

Hospital Director Dr Dambar Khadka said there was a big inflow of COVID-19 infected people to the COVID-19 Special Hospital and the risk of virus transmission was high from corona infected people that were asymptomatic. 


Currently, 23 infected persons are undergoing treatment at Corona special hospital. The hospital has shut down its OPD service for a week starting Thursday after doctors were tested positive for the virus. 


Director Khadka said a new decision will be taken after reviewing the situation after a week. Earlier, three doctors working at the Hospital had been infected with the virus.
