Sirish set new national record in open sections of the men's 400 m freestyle clocking 4 minutes and 36.78 seconds. Sirish surpassed his own previous record of 4 minutes and 47.38 seconds that he set during the Second NSA Cup held in the capital in 2013.
Similarly, Sirish broke his own previous record in men's 200 m individual medley (open section) by clocking 2 minutes and 27.03 seconds. His previous timing was 2 minutes and 30.25 seconds during the Third NSA Cup in 2013.
On Wednesday, Sirish set new national record in men's 1500 m freestyle in open section clocking 18 minutes and 45.62 seconds.
Sirish added four more gold medals to his overnight tally of six, securing first positions in the 100m breaststroke (1 minute and 16.34 seconds), 200 m backstroke (2 minutes and 40.28 seconds), 100 m freestyle (1 minute and 00.41 seconds) and 50 m backstroke (34 seconds).
Meanwhile, the team of Jitzwell Maharjan, Tisa Shakya, Oshina Bharati and Rasika Paudyal of the Central Region set new national record in women's 4X100m freestyle relay with the timing of 5 minutes and 08.94 seconds.
Laxmi, Rubina, Runa and Stuti earlier held the record in 4X100m freestyle relay clocking 5 minutes and 2.30 seconds during the Eighth South Asian Game held in Kathmandu in 1999.
Likewise, Jitzwell of the Central Region claimed women's 800 m freestyle gold with the timing of 12 minutes and 34.21 seconds, while Tisa, also from Central, won gold in women's 200 m individual medley clocking 3 minutes and 13.28 seconds.
Similarly, Sofia Shah of Army clinched gold medal in women's 200 m freestyle, finishing the distance in 2 minutes and 23.44 seconds. Sonira Bista (3 minutes and 20.34 seconds) won women's 200 m breaststroke and Oshina Bharati (1 minute and 26.68 seconds) of Central claimed women's 100 m butterfly.
