KATHMANDU, May 5: Three of the people onboard a Simrik Air helicopter which crashed in Sankhuwasabha on Friday are said to have sustained severe injuries, according to the District Administration Office, Sankhuwasabha. Rescue efforts are underway with the help of a Nepal Army helicopter, said Administrative Officer Bhogendra Shrestha.

Eleven Army personnel have been deployed along with its helicopter for rescue efforts, said Brigadier General Krishna Prasad Bhandari, the NA spokesperson. Out of the total five people aboard the ill-fated helicopter, three are said to be in critical condition, he said.
The accident took place at Hammaredanda of Bhotkhola Rural Municipality-4 while landing. The helicopter was carrying construction materials for the Upper Arun Hydropower Project.
Of the injured, three with critical injuries have been airlifted to Kathmandu whereas two are undergoing treatment in the district headquarters, Khandbari,
