SUDURPASCHIM, Aug 1: Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province, Kamal Bahadur Shah, has won the vote of confidence from the Province Assembly on Thursday.

Province Assembly Speaker Bhim Bahadur Bhandari announced that the proposal tabled by the CM gained 30 votes, which was the complete majority in the Province Assembly as per the members' presence at Thursday's meeting. Fifteen Province Assembly members voted against the CM's proposal for the confidence motion.
A total of 46 Provincial Assembly members, including the Speaker, were present at the meeting.
For Chief Minister Shah, 18 Province Assembly members of the Nepali Congress, 11 of the CPN (UML) and one of the Nagarik Unmukti Party supported. However, six other members of the Nagarik Unmukti Party absented themselves from the meeting.
Province Assembly members of other political parties, including the CPN (Maoist Centre), CPN (Unified Socialist), RPP and independent, voted against the Chief Minister's proposal.
In the 53-member Province Assembly, Dirgha Bahadur Sodari of the CPN (Unified Socialist) is suspended on charges of corruption.
