KATHMANDU, April 4: Schools and colleges across the country were shut down following off the charts pollution levels early last week. The education institutions are resuming classes from today.
Kathmandu breathed one of the worst airs in the world last week, and the government had directed schools and colleges to remain closed for four days on March 30.

Despite the government’s decision, most of the schools and colleges outside of Kathmandu remained open during this period.
Major cities were blanketed with thick smog for days, causing difficulty in breathing.
