The police are yet to get a lead in the case. Police said the abduction may have been done for a ransom as the boy´s father, Ram Kumar, is in a Gulf country in a foreign employment. They hinted involvement of some close relatives citing few past cases.
This is the 13th case of kidnapping of children in Saptari district in the past six months. Of those kidnapped, four were rescued by police while the rest, all boys, were released after their families paid ransom. Similarly, in the neighboring Siraha district, nine children have been kidnapped in the past six months.
