KATHMANDU, Nov 13: The Supreme Court has issued a show cause order on the legality of the appointment of Madhesh Province Chief Minister Saroj Yadav and has sought a written response on the same.
A single bench of Justice Nityananda Pandey on Wednesday ordered Chief Minister Yadav to provide a written response through the Attorney General's Office within 15 days.

The preliminary hearing of the writ petition filed against Chief Minister Yadav by 74 lawmakers from Madhesh Province, including Krishna Prasad Yadav, was held on Wednesday. The court has called both parties for a discussion on November 16.
The court has ordered the file containing the decision of November 9 regarding the appointment of the Chief Minister and all documents related to the formation of the Council of Ministers be presented to it.
