Officials of the Cooperative padlocked the office demanding to sack the newly elected Chairman of the Cooperative, Raj Kumar Singh.[break]
Earlier, Singh was also appointed as General Manager (GM) of the Cooperative. Former board meeting of the Cooperative had sacked Singh from the post of GM about five months ago saying he made financial irregularities during his one and half year period of GM´s post.
National Cooperative Development Board appointed Singh as a chairman of the Cooperative on June 9 awarding him. After that, officials of the Cooperative padlocked the office demanding to withdraw the Board´s decision.
According to Mukti Niraula, Coordinator of Employee´s Struggle Committee, a team of the officials met Minister for Agriculture and requested to solve the problem. There is system that Minister for Agriculture is the chairman of the National Cooperative Development Board.
Future of the employees of the Cooperative is in dilemma after the Minister for Agriculture did not take it seriously, said Niraula.
The Cooperative was established on 2021 B.S.
