SAG women's football in round robin format

KATHMANDU, Feb 1: Women footballers will play in the changed round robin league format after Afghanistan became the third team to pull out of the 12th South Asian Games (SAG) to be held in Guwahati and Shillong of India from February 5 to 16.

Pakistan and Bhutan had already announced that they would not compete in the event. Now, Nepal, Maldives, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the host, India, will take part in the competition.Nepal will play its first match against Bangladesh on February 5, play Maldives two days later, and meet Sri Lanka on Feb 11 and play the last match of the league against India on Feb 13. The final match will be played on Feb 15. Women's football will be played in Shillong.
