KATHMANDU, April 5: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has assigned its Vice Chairman, DP Aryal with the responsibility of acting chairman. The central secretariat of the party took this decision following the arrest of its Chairman Rabi Lamichanne, on Friday evening.
The Tulsipur Butwal bench of the High Court had issued an arrest order against Lamichhane on Friday for carrying out further investigation into alleged cooperative savings irregularities. He was arrested at his residence in Hattigauda, Budhanilkantha, the same evening.

Soon after, the party's secretariat meeting decided to respect the court's decision and move ahead seeking justice for Lamicchane in accordance with the constitution and relevant law.
Similarly, the meeting directed that the scheduled mass meeting to be held in Bharatpur, Chitwan, at 2 pm today would be held in a peaceful and cordial manner.
