NSJF has been organizing the award function annually to honor sportspersons in recognition of their contribution to Nepali sports.
A special feature of this year´s awards ceremony is that players will also perform in song and dance interludes in between the announcements of the winners of eight different categories.[break]
According to the coordinator of the organizing committee, Durga Nath Subedi, altogether 12 players will also walk the ramp instead of models.
Singer Ciney Gurung and actress Diya Maskey will be the other major attractions at the awards ceremony.
The eight categories included in this year´s Sports Award are Player of the Year (Male), Player of the Year (Female), Coach of the Year, Youth Player of the Year, Para-athlete of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award, Special Award and Popular Player of the Year.
Pulsar is the main sponsor of the Sports Award. The winners of male, female and popular player of the year awards will receive a Pulsar bike each.
Winners in other categories will get Rs 50,000 along with gift hampers sponsored by ISME, Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd, John Players and Dish Media Network, among others.
