According to Prem Shrestha of Prem Lok Trading Concern at Ghattekulo, Musuro is selling for Rs 100 per kg, down from Rs 110 recorded a month ago. Price of Musuro has declined by Rs 10 to Rs 100. “The price could go further down in the coming days as the production of Musuro has been increasing,” Shrestha added. [break]
Price of Rahar has also decreased by Rs 10 to Rs 110 per kg. Rahar was selling for Rs 130 per kg until a few months ago. Likewise, Mas has also become cheaper by Rs 10 per kg over the period. The popular lentil is selling for Rs 120 per kg in the last week of February.
Mung Khosta that was selling for as high as Rs 150 per kg until a few months ago has lowered to Rs 135 per kg. The price of Chana Dal, however, has remained stable. Two varieties of Chana Dal are selling for Rs 72 and Rs 66 per kg.
Ram Krishna Manandhar, vice president of Nepal Retailers´ Association, said price of edible oil has also decreased over the period. Mustard oil of Dhara and Shree brands has decreased by Rs 5 and Rs 3 per liter respectively. Dhara mustard oil, which was selling for Rs 145 per liter a month ago, has reduced to Rs 140 per liter.
Soybean oil which was priced Rs 100 per liter has also decreased by Rs 5 per liter.
Shrestha also informed that sugar that was selling for as high as Rs 110 per kg has lowered to Rs 80 per kg.
