KATHMANDU, Oct 15: Breaking his silence, President Ram Baran Yadav has said that he is ready to serve as Head of State again.

“Nepal needs a representative government. I will serve Nepal once again if the country and the political parties demand me to become President. I am ready to shoulder any responsibility for Nepal as I have done in the past,” Yadav said in an interview with The Hindu.

The parliament is set to elect a new president as per the constitutional provision.

President Yadav further maintained that it would be appropriate if President is chosen from Madheshi community.

“I hope the political parties have their ears to the ground and make a decision that will help Nepal’s future. I am not saying that I should be the President. But a Madheshi can be chosen to maintain balance and order in the country,” he said.
