Prez urges Dahal to forge consensus

KATHMAND, May 24: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has stepped up meetings with political leaders in a bid to encourage them to arrive at consensus on constitution, peace process and extension of the Constituent Assembly term.



On Tuesday, Yadav met Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal at his official residence, Shital Niwas and urged the latter to move ahead by forging consensus with other political parties.



Dahal said he told the president that he was hopeful of consensus among political parties and also apprised the president of ongoing political parleys among parties.



According to officials at Shital Niwas, the president is also scheduled to hold meetings with leaders of other political parties.
