A 15-year-old girl from Mahendranagar village-1 of Sunsari had filed a police complaint against her master, Ganesh Adhikari, accusing him of sexual harassment a week ago. But police have yet to detain Adhikari for investigation.
Meanwhile, Bhujel has also accused Indu Ghimire, the elder sister of the alleged offender, of setting her own house ablaze apparently to divert the case. “She burnt her own house and put the blame on the supporters of the victim,” Bhujel said. “The police acted on her complaints promptly and arrested 14 local villagers. They all are innocent.”
A local Nepali Congress leader, Adhikari has been allegedly using his political connections to evade the case.
“We will launch protest programs if police failed to nab him within 35 days,” Bhujel said. District Police Office of Sunsari on Monday formed a special team led by inspector Durga Dahal to trace Adhikari.
