A cabinet meeting held at Singh Durbar approved the president´s six-day official India visit, according to the government´s spokesperson and Minister for Information and Communications Raj Kishore Yadav. The president´s 22-member team includes three of his family members.[break]
President Dr Yadav, who is visiting Banares Hindu University to receive the title of Di Litt, will return home on December 29 after holding political meetings with Indian leaders in New Delhi.
The president´s delegation includes his daughter Anita Yadav, Minister for Irrigation Mahendra Yadav, advisors Hari Sharma and Rajendra Dahal, Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) Durga Prasad Bhattarai, Secretary at the President´s Office, Sheetal Babu Regmi, Chief of Protocol Nirajan Man Singh Basnyat, Deputy Chief of Protocol Narayan Prasad Mainali and MoFA Under Secretary Kali Prasad Pokhrel.
Likewise, Nepal Army Brigadier General Pradip Bahadur Singh and the president´s personal physician, Yadav Dev Bhatta, are also among the members of the delegation.
This is President Yadav´s third visit to India. Earlier, he had visited India on February 15, 2010.
