KATHMANDU, March 12: The Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO) under the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has blacklisted 10 construction companies.
The office issued a public notice on Wednesday stating that two companies have been blacklisted for one and a half years and the others for one year, effective from today.
Tara Laxmi Nirman Sewa of Gulmi, with Ganesh Tanganami as the main person, and Mamata Manju Construction Pvt Ltd of Kathmandu, led by Anil Basnet, have been blacklisted for one and a half years.
PPMO blacklists 33 construction companies
Similarly, Sanam Nirman Sewa from Sankhuwasabha, led by Subodh Khatiwada, and Nirjara Nirman Sewa from Sabha Pokhari Rural Municipality, with Kamal Sapkota as the main person, has been blacklisted for one year based on recommendations from the respective local offices.
Ashok Gaire-led Indraynai Builders and Suppliers in Kathmandu, Nirman Sansar Company Pvt. Ltd. and Common Construction have also been blacklisted for one year.
Similarly, Rajendra Nirman Sewa led by Bhim Bahadur Sawad, Rafina and Construction led by Rabin Kumar Joshi and Ram Nirman Construction led by Suresh Kumar Silwal have also been blacklisted for one year.
The government blacklists companies that fail to complete assigned tasks satisfactorily. Such companies are not allowed to participate in any procurement process of public bodies during the period they are on the blacklist. The PPMOhas stated that these companies have been penalized in accordance with the Public Procurement Act, 2063 BS.
