Policeman suspended for brutally beating youth in Chitwan

According to the Chitwan District Police Office, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Buddhi Bahadur Bhujel has been suspended. Bhujel was stationed at the temporary police post in Ganesh Dham.

KATHMANDU, Jan 20: A policeman who brutally kicked and beat a young man in the bypass road area of Bharatpur Metropolitan City, Chitwan, a couple of weeks back, has been suspended.


According to the Chitwan District Police Office, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Buddhi Bahadur Bhujel has been suspended. Bhujel was stationed at the temporary police post in Ganesh Dham.

In a video clip which has gone viral on social media, ASI Bhujel is seen ruthlessly kicking a pedestrian multiple times. He keeps kicking the pedestrian even after he falls down after the first kick on his back.


After the video went viral on social media, the District Police Office formed a five-member investigation committee under the leadership of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Gyan Kumar Mahato to investigate the incident.


It has been revealed that the incident seen in the video took place in Chitwan on December 29/30.
