Police take Lamichhane to DGAO for recording his affidavit

KATHMANDU, Oct 27: Kaski police have taken Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and former home minister, to the District Government Attorney’s Office (DGAO) for recording his affidavit. Lamichhane is accused of misappropriating the funds of Suryadarshan cooperative through Gorkha Media Network.

KATHMANDU, Oct 27: Kaski police have taken Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and former home minister, to the District Government Attorney’s Office (DGAO) for recording his affidavit. Lamichhane is accused of misappropriating the funds of Suryadarshan cooperative through Gorkha Media Network. 


Police are currently investigating him on charges of organized crime, money laundering and cooperative fraud.

Lamichhane’s custody has been extended for the second time by seven days. Lamichhane was arrested from Kathmandu on October 18 and will be in judicial custody at least till October 30. His judicial custody is likely to prolong further and he will only be presented to the Kaski District Court only on November 5, because the court will be closed for the Tihar holidays starting October 31.
