Police kills three Tigers cadres in Saptari

LAHAN, Sept 25: Police killed three cadres of Madheshi Mukti Tigers in Saptari on Friday.



According to police, Bhuwaneshwor Yadav of Portaha-8, Saptari aka Bhawani Singh was killed along with two others in the exchange of fire between the Tigers cadres and police at Bairawa in the morning.



Two policemen were injured in the incident that happened when the armed group met patrolling police team, according to Bhupal Bhadari, the district police chief.



During a press conference held on Friday, police claimed those killed were involved in various criminal activities. Yadav was responsible for two blasts – one each in a motor garage and a shop – a month ago.



Policemen injured in the incident are constable Dilip Shrestha and Dev Narayan Yadav. They are being treated at Kanchanpur Health Center.



Meanwhile, Tigers accused police of killing its three cadres after arresting them. Tigers co-ordianator Pratap accused police to killing them at the time when the outfit has announced unilateral ceasefire.



Police recovered a pistol, two home-made pistols, five rounds of bullets and a mobile set from the incident site.
