Police confiscate 21 tolas of stolen gold ornaments

TANAHUN, Nov 19: Police in Tanahun district have been successful in confiscating on Sunday 21 tolas of gold ornaments, which were stolen from Hariyana in India a few days ago.



Police confiscated the gold ornaments, which were brought by Man Bahadur BK of Deurali VDC-4 in Nawalparasi district after stealing from Hariyana.[break]



BK was guard at a house in Hariyana. The gold ornaments were sold to owner of Dumre Bazaar-based Pokhareli Jewelry Shop, Rajendra Kumar Sunar, at Rs. 568,000, but now the market price of the gold is around Rs. 1.3 million, according to Police Chief Devi Bahadur Bohara.



Three persons including BK had looted the gold ornaments by intoxicating the owner of the house, according to police investigation.



According to Police Inspector Devi Prasad Paudel, BK and Sunar along with the gold have been handed over to Nawalparasi police.
