KATHMANDU, March 9: A police team from the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office has arrested two individuals involved in scooter theft from different locations in Kathmandu last Friday.
Police identified the suspects as 20-year-old Shanis Shrestha from Ward 7 of Bahrabise Municipality, Sindhupalchok, currently living in Manmaiju, Kathmandu, and 18-year-old Sushant Budha Magar from Ward 13 of Putha Uttarganga Rural Municipality, Rukum East, also residing in Manmaiju, Kathmandu

Mahesh Chandra Khanal, a resident of Samakhusi, reported the scooter was stolen from Tarkeshwar Municipality-9. During the investigation, police discovered that Sushant Budha Magar had supplied the scooter. Following this lead, they arrested Sushant from Manmaiju, Kathmandu.
During the investigation, the police learned that the suspects had hidden another scooter. While searching, they found an unregistered scooter parked in Ghale Pul, Tarkeshwar Municipality-10.
Riki Thapa Magar from Ramechhap reported the scooter with the registration, Ba 92 Pa 9395,was stolen from Tokha Municipality-11.
Superintendent of Police Deepak Giri from the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office said police have sent both individuals to Balaju Police Circle for further investigation.
Superintendent of Police Deepak Giri urged all owners to park their vehicles at secure locations and install safety measures such as wheel locks, chain locks, handle locks, disc locks, and security alarms. He also warned against parking in isolated areas with little or no traffic movement.
While police continue efforts to recover stolen vehicles and prevent theft, he stressed the need for owners to stay vigilant and choose safe parking spots.
In case of vehicle theft, owners should immediately call the Traffic Police hotline at 103 or the Nepal Police hotline at 100 and file a complaint at the nearest police station.
