KATHMANDU, April 30: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal would address the nation in an appropriate time, CPN UML spokesperson Pradip Gyawali said with reporters after the party´s politburo meeting in Balkhu on Friday.
"The Prime Minister would not resign owing to the protests from the streets," Gyawali said.[break]
Gyawali said that the meeting requested that the Maoist call off its protest programs to pave a way out to the present political deadlock.
The meeting also asked the Unified CPN (Maoist) to make the protest programs peaceful.
The unity among the ruling parties is must in the current situation, the meeting concluded.
The meeting also urged the government to use every means to curb the protests if turned violent and maintain peace and security in the country.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, chairman Jhala Nath Khanal, vice-chairman Bamdev Gautam, secretary and Minister for Information and Communication Shankar Pokharel and other senior leaders.
Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal who walked out in the middle of the meeting in a brief talk with reporters asked the Maoists to call off the protest programs.
All the demands should be addressed through dialogues among the parties, the PM said.
