PM sees problems within police organization

KATHMANDU, Mar 5: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that problems lie within the police organization to maintain peace and security in the country.



Inaugurating the Nepal Pharma Expo-2010 in the capital on Friday , PM said that there is necessity of eagerness inside the police organization to maintain peace and security. [break]



Lauding the fame of Nepal Police in national and international arena in the past, PM Nepal said that this organization should utilize its capacity effectively.



On the occasion, PM directed the leadership of the Nepal Police to take action against the incompetent personnel and award the skilled ones to carry out its duties promptly adding that incompetent police personnel were found having nexus with the criminals as well.



He said the government is committed to maintaining peace and security and urged all sectors to help in this effect.



Likewise, PM urged the entrepreneurs to provide information to the security bodies and not to keep hide information if they feel insecurity.



Saying his attention was seriously drawn towards news being disseminated on PM´s helplessness regarding security situation, He claimed that he has not expressed his helplessness anywhere and was not a man of that kind. PM Nepal said he has started receiving efficiency of all chief district officers and police officers in a bid to maintain peace and security in the country.



Saying insecurity, energy crisis and trade union´s strikes by keeping unnecessary demands are commons problems; PM said the government is sensitive to resolve such issues.

On the occasion, PM appealed the entrepreneurs of the pharmaceutical industries to make the country independent in drugs by increasing its domestic productions.



Vice chairman of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries Bhaskar Raj Rajkarnikar demanded security to the entrepreneurs to work in a secured environment.



Chairman of Nepal Drug Producers´ Association Umesh Lal Shrestha demanded necessary helps from the government to import the raw materials and necessary tools required for the pharmaceutical industries.



At present, there are over 40 pharmaceutical industries and some Rs 12 billion has been invested. Similarly, the country has the market of Rs 12 billion of drugs annually. Of the demand, some 55 percent of drugs are being produced in the country.
