PM returns home, terms visit a diplomatic success

KATHMANDU, Sept 28: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal returned home on Monday leading a Nepalese delegation to the 64th session of General Assembly of the United Nations.



Speaking to mediapersons upon his arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), the prime minister said the visit was able to further the diplomatic relation in short span of time. [break]



He also told the mediapersons that the Australian government has agreed to provide US $190,000,000 to Nepal to reduce infant mortality.



The prime minister was welcomed at the Tribhuvan International Airport by Deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar, Speaker Subas Nembang, Home Minister Bhim Bahadur Rawal and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Sharat Singh Bhandari.



A contingent of Nepal Army had presented a guard of honor to the PM on the occasion.



The prime minister had addressed the UN General Assembly on September 26.



He had met US President Barack Obama and other heads of states and governments during his visit.
