KATHMANDU, Aug 31: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has congratulated Palesha Govardhan for securing a historic bronze medal in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
Taking to social media this morning, PM Oli praised Govardhan for achieving a milestone for Nepal in sports.
The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games have been underway in Paris, France, since August 28.

In the women's under 57 kg Taekwondo event under the K-44 category held last night, Palesha defeated Serbia's Marija Micev by 15-8 to bring a coveted bronze medal for herself and the country.
In the first-round match held yesterday, she defeated Valeria Morales of Venezuela by 31-0, advancing to the quarterfinals. However, she lost to Brazil's Silvana Fernandes by 10-8 in the quarterfinals.
As she was defeated in the second round, she got another chance through repechage, in which she defeated host France's Sefi Carvajal by 2-1.
She has become the first Nepali athlete to win a medal in the Paralympics.
