KATHMANDU, April 5: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has stated that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not be coming to Nepal for the ‘Sagarmatha Sambaad’.
PM Oli said that Modi has a pre-scheduled visit to Europe during the time of the sambaad, which prevents him from attending the event. However, PM Oli said that a high-level representative from India will participate in the sambaad.

After completing his official visit to Thailand on Saturday, PM Oli, upon his return to Nepal, shared with the media at Tribhuvan International Airport that he had met with Indian PM Modi during his visit to Thailand. He said that the meeting was cordial and constructive.
Oli said that discussions were held on various areas of bilateral cooperation, including the Pancheshwar Project, trade, and irrigation through the Mahakali River in the Dodhara Chandani region. He emphasized that there was an understanding to further strengthen and expand Nepal-India relations, with an agreement to resolve any issues through immediate dialogue.
Oli stated, “I met with Prime Minister Modi of India, as well as the Prime Ministers of Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and Myanmar. There is particular interest in what happened during my meeting with Indian PM Modi. The meeting went very well. It was conducted in a cordial atmosphere with friendship and warmth. This time, PM Modi will not be able to attend the Sagarmatha Sambaad because he already has a scheduled trip to Europe during that time.”
