"We leaders from other political parties supported his idea of India visit only after the blockade is lifted and the bilateral issues to be discussed at the top level is made clear," Chairman of Nepal Workers and Peasants Party (NWPP) Narayanman Bijukchhe told Republica.
According to him, Indian ambassador Ranjeet Ray had called on the prime minister earlier on the day to inform India's willingness to move forward the Kathmandu-Nijgadh Fast-Track road project and the Raxaul-Amlekhgunj pipeline project.
Dahal had called the meeting of the committee after leaders of his party, UCPN (Maoist), expressed serious dissatisfaction toward the performance of the government in the last three months.
"We, at the meeting, suggested to the prime minister and other leaders to take initiatives to improve the performance of the government," Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party Lokendra Bahadur Chand told Republica.
The meeting suggested to the prime minister to take initiatives to strengthen bilateral relations with India during his visit to the southern neighbor, read a statement issued by the committee after the meeting.
According to Chand, the prime minister said he would call a meeting to discuss about his India visit before he leaves for India.
The leaders decided to give continuity to talks with the agitating Madhesi parties and emphasized for resolving the issues through negotiations.
